Laura and David's Wedding at the Alderbrook Resort

November 10th 2012.

When Laura and I sat down to talk wedding flowers earlier in the summer, I immediately knew this beautiful bride had a perfect vision for her wedding. Her color palate was green, pink and brown. Summer colors in winter, how unique!

She pulled a black lantern out of her bag and asked if I could design a centerpiece around it (see centerpiece image above). The lanterns were to be filled with ivory pillar candles, embellished with lush florals for table decor and outdoors at the cocktail area.

As Laura was just finishing up (chef) school and had a passion for cooking, we talked about adding some herbs to her bridal bouquet (rosemary and sage), which I did. She also loved succulents so I added a couple into the mix. I was so happy that she loved her bouquet. For David and the groomsmen's boutonnieres I used the same type succulent wrapped in lush grey velvet.

I had so much fun playing with flowers for Laura and David's wedding.

BHS Homecoming 2012

Sept 29th 2012

What a beautifully sunny day it was on Bainbridge Island for Homecoming!
The afternoon photography parties are must event. Call it "Pre-Homecoming".
The high schoolers all meet up to exchange their Diamond Custom Floral corsages and boutonnieres and the parents get to capture the moment....Many thanks to Trina, Amy, Karen and Margie for sharing these images with me. And, a special THANK YOU, to Katja ( Hannah's mom ) for the special photo collage, it was so thoughtful of her to take the time to create such a keepsake for me and, what a nice surprise!

I particularly love that the  young men on our Island are getting into ordering specific flower combos for their dates. They are really paying attention, good job, moms!

When my boys were taking a date to the dance it was like " pulling teeth" getting them to even ask their date what color dress they were planning to wear, never mind having them give me a clue as to what color ribbon to use.
Kudos to the guys for being into the moment!
